ArmInfo. Law does not prohibit priming themselves, and the governors also have the right to do so. This was announced on January 21 at the briefings in the National Assembly of Armenia by the head of the "My Step" faction Lilit Makunts, commenting on the resonant bonus of the republic's governors from the ruling bloc.
At the same time, she noted that the governors had rewarded not only themselves, but their MP, advisers, and assistants. "The premiums are also issued in parliament, and no one opposes it. Moreover, I believe that when the best public sector workers receive bonuses, this is justified, because the public sector has very low salaries," Makunts said. The MP said that if it becomes obvious that the reward is not feasible, and then this issue will be brought up for discussion in parliament and resolved.
In turn, MP from the Prosperous Armenia faction Gevorg Petrsyan noted that awarding public sector employees who have not worked even a year is a dubious initiative. Member of the "Bright Armenia" party Ani Samosonyan stated that the governors should not write themselves such large bonuses from the country budget. "Such a practice is unacceptable, because those who were rewarded, worked only a few months, so at the expense of what merit they wrote out such large awards?", Samsonian wondered.
To note, on January 20 a number of governors of Armenia wrote out bonuses for themselves and a number of employees in the amount from half to full monthly salary. Governor of the Ararat region Gagik Sargsyan wrote out, for example, 104% of his monthly salary, about 700 thousand drams. At the same time, the same Sargsyan previously found it difficult to answer the question of the Prime Minister about what the area of cultivated land in the Ararat region.
