During the meeting, he stated that the trial of Hrant Dink's case was conducted with violations from the very beginning, and demanded that the Majlis take up this case. Paylyan noted that 12 years have passed since the murder of the editor of the "Agos> bilingual weekly newspaper but so far not all involved in the crime have been convicted. "As can be seen on the records from the cameras, Dink was killed in the presence of dozens of security forces. And although 12 years have passed, the state has not yet brought these people to justice. And those who appeared before the court were later released," the MP stated.
According to him, all these years, the Turkish authorities accused the "Ergenekon" organization or the supporters of the Islamic preacher Fethullah Gulen in the murder of Dink. In fact, convinced Paylan, the murder was organized and encouraged by the authorities themselves. Nevertheless, the proposal to establish a relevant commission to investigate the case was put to a vote and rejected by MPs of the ruling Justice and Development party, as well as the Nationalist Movement Party in coalition.
To note, Hrant Dink was killed on January 19, 2007 in Istanbul in front of the editorial office of its "Agos".newspaper
However, the customers of the crime have not been established. The court sentenced only the killer himself Ogun Samast, to imprisonment for a term of 22 years 10 months, and Yasin Khayal, accused of inciting to murder - to life imprisonment. According to the decision of the European Court of Human Rights, the Turkish authorities violated Hrant Dink's right to life and the right to freedom of speech. The ECtHR sentenced Turkey to pay 133 thousand euros to Hrant Dink's family.
