ArmInfo. The information that Manvel Grigoryan is in Artsakh is not true. The lawyer of General Manvel Grigoryan Arsen Mkrtchyan wrote about this on January 12 on his Facebook page, refuting the information that appeared in the media that his client had left for Artsakh.
"Rumors that Grigoryan is in Artsakh are a lie. The last time I saw him yesterday at 11:35pm and spoke to him this morning at about 9:30am. Another provocative lie did not work again," the lawyer said.
To note, for the second day in a row the residents of Echmiadzin continue to protest against the decision of the court on release on bail of Manvel Grigoryan. The protest rally takes place at the beginning of the highway leading to the Zvartonots airport.
To recall, the court of general jurisdiction of the city of Yerevan on the evening of December 21 decided to release on bail of General Manvel Grigoryan on bail of 25 million drams. He was charged under two articles: illicit trafficking in arms and ammunition and the appropriation of food and supplies intended for the Armed Forces. At the end of November, the arrested general appealed to the government, announcing his readiness to transfer to the state the territory of the Ankalich farm that belongs to him in the Aknalich community, costing about 6 billion drams. Lawyer Arsen Mkrtchyan urged not to consider this step as an attempt to pay off. After the court issued a decision on the release of Grigoryan on bail, the inhabitants of Echmiadzin blocked Grigoryan's entry into the city, thus expressing his attitude towards him. On December 22, Acting , Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressing this topic stated that he did not understand the grounds on which the court's decision to release Manvel Grigoryan on bail was made. At the same time, according to Pashinyan, he understands the discontent of people protesting against the decision of the court. "Holding a protest is the right of citizens," he said. Protests were also held in Yerevan. Further, the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia filed an appeal against the decision of the court of general jurisdiction to release General Manvel Grigoryan on bail.
