ArmInfo. The head of the Institute of National Strategic Studies (INSI) of the RA Ministry of Defense, President of the Political Science Association of Armenia Hayk Kotanjyan, at the end of today's Government meeting, expressed satisfaction at the positive reaction of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the arguments on systemic reform of the Ministry of Diaspora with the agreed support cooperation with prominent figures and organizations of Armenia and the Diaspora.
This is stated in the official report of the head of the INSI. <Based on the results of our two-week consolidated efforts, we can conclude that in order to effectively represent and protect the interests of the RA in the international community in the fields of culture and cooperation with the Diaspora, accepting all our previous arguments, we should also proceed from the principle of institutional parity between the relevant subjects of state governance of Armenia and Azerbaijan>, he noted.
Kotanjyan noted that Azerbaijan's State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of Azerbaijan, established in 2008 by President's Decree Ilham Aliyev, operates in Azerbaijan. <Beginning in 2002, President Heydar Aliyev, by creating the State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis Living Abroad (the forerunner of the current State Committee for work with the Azerbaijani diaspora), actually laid the foundation for the creation of the previously non-existent Azerbaijani diaspora actively opposing the Armenian diaspora,"he stressed political scientist.
