ArmInfo.Armenian Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan received the Ambassador of Iran to Armenia, Seyyed Kazem Sajjadi, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office informs.
According to the source, Davtyan noted that the trip to Iran, which took place in November 2018, marked a new stage for the development of Armenian-Iranian relations in the legal field. Davtyan also said that the Memorandum of Cooperation, signed by the Prosecutors General of the two countries in Tehran, would be a serious incentive for the further development of contacts. The Prosecutor General said that practical steps are already being taken for holding the events provided for in the memorandum in 2019 in Yerevan. They relate to practical issues of cooperation in the field of legal assistance in criminal matters, exchange of experience and cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking, as well as in the investigation of criminal cases.
In turn, the Iranian Ambassador to Armenia noted that the relations between the embassy and the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia are exemplary, and the relations between the two countries in the legal field are being strengthened in accordance with the developing relations between the two friendly countries in different directions.
