ArmInfo. The issue of using "soft power" in Armenia has a large reserve. This is a complex, systemic issue that requires daily work. The Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin stated this on December 18 at a press conference.
He noted that the basis of the factor of "soft power" is those ties that unite two friendly nations over the centuries. "Of course, our current steps are not enough, we should work actively with civil society, as well as with representatives of the press. Close interpersonal contacts have developed between us, which are a strong single base of Russian-Armenian interstate relations," the Ambassador noted.
Kopirkin stated that the Russian Embassy and organizations operating in Armenia intend to raise bilateral ties to a new level. "In this regard, Armenia's tourist attractiveness will play a significant role. According to a number of studies in the field of tourism, Armenia is the most favorite route for Russian tourists. This will enable a large number of residents of the Russian Federation to get to know Armenia, which will also allow the country to develop its economy," the Ambassador said.
