ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of Emergency Situations Felix Tsolakyan met with his Russian counterpart Yevgeny Zinichev in Moscow yesterday.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia, during the meeting the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the prevention and elimination of consequences of emergency situations. It was noted that a vivid example of effective Armenian-Russian cooperation in the field of emergency situations is the Armenian- Russian humanitarian response center in Armenia, whose specialists are ready to respond to emergency situations not only in Armenia and Russia, but also in the territories of third countries. The center also trains emergency prevention and response specialists. Three years after the establishment, more than 350 Armenian specialists have already been retrained, and 70 workers have been retrained at universities of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. This year, the center provided the greatest humanitarian assistance, in which around 100 tons of food were sent to Syria.
During the meeting, the parties stressed the importance of developing partnerships and expressed readiness to further expand the scope of existing interaction.
