ArmInfo. A Russian soldier accused of killing a Gyumri resident must stand trial in Armenian court, Head of the National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan, stated in an interview with journalists, while emphasizing that the killer has no nationality.
To recall, on December 3, in the city of Gyumri, a criminal case was opened into the murder of a 57-year- old woman, a street cleaner. The woman died as a result of grievous bodily harm. On December 11, the Armenian Prosecutor's Office reported that a soldier of the 102nd Russian military base stationed in Gyumri was arrested on suspicion of causing serious bodily injuries resulting in death. In this connection, the Russian Embassy in Armenia called not to politicize the issue, since after the incident, statements were made about the need to withdraw the Russian base from Armenia.
