The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee cleared the way for full Senate confirmation of U.S. Ambassador to Armenia designate Lynne Tracy and U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan designate Earle Litzenberger, the press service of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), reports. "ANCA is looking forward to the approval of the candidacy of Lynne Tracy as ambassador and the start of her mission in the country, where she will have excellent opportunities to improve the Armenian-American strategic relations.
Lynne Tracy was nominated by US President Donald Trump in September. Tracy is a specialist in Russia and the countries of the former USSR, and currently holds the post of Senior Adviser on Russian Affairs at the US Department of State. Previously, she was Deputy US Ambassador to Moscow, Ashgabat and Astana. Tracy speaks Russian. Earle Litzenberger has been appointed the Senior Advisor in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs (PM) in January 2018. Mr. Litzenberger has served as Deputy Chief of Mission to the U.S. Mission to NATO, Brussels (2014-2017), the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia (2010- 2013) and the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (2006-2009). He was the NATO Deputy Senior Civilian Representative in Kabul, Afghanistan (2013-2014).
