ArmInfo. The arrested General Manvel Grigoryan appealed to the government, announcing his readiness to transfer to the state the territory of the Ankalich fish farm belonging to him in the Aknalich community worth about 6 billion drams, since he has a big heart. "This is a gesture of a man who always gave the Motherland more than he took," Grigoryan's lawyer Arsen Mkrtchyan explained his client's words.
As the lawyer explained, this is done in order to shame the investigative body of accusing the general of "stealing grain, meanwhile he is ready to donate whole bags of grain to the state". Arsen Mkrtchyan urged not to consider this gesture as an attempt to pay off. "The transfer of this property is Grigoryan's assistance to the state, which he has always been doing. This is not an attempt to bribe the state, but its way of life," Mkrtchyan stressed.
At the same time, the lawyer refrained from commenting on the statement of the Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Armenia that when examining the property certificates found in Grigoryan's mansion during a search of the National Security Service, it turned out that some of them were acquired with violations. According to him, on the basis of this statement, it is impossible to say unequivocally that transactions for the acquisition of this property can be called invalid. "For many years, all the necessary state payments were regularly carried out on these assets," Mkrtchyan said.
According to the lawyer, according to the information available to him, not all local governments accepted the information about the possible transfer of real estate objects owned by the general and ex-deputy from the Republican Party with enthusiasm, since they do not dispute the legality of the ownership of this property.
To recall, Armenian MP, Republican Party member, General Manvel Grigoryan was detained by NSS employees on June 16. In the framework of a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 235 (illegal circulation of weapons) of the Criminal Code of Armenia the NSS conducted a search in the mansion and rest zone owned by Manvel Grigoryan on June 16. According to the source, the recreation area was turned into a weapons warehouse, a garage of dozens of retro and modern cars. The cottage in Aknalich village served for the general as a storehouse for food, hygiene products, medicines, military uniforms, on which was marked "soldier rations". "From the letters in the boxes addressed to servicemen, it is obvious that the contents of the boxes are the help sent for soldiers to the front line, in the days of April war," the NSS press center reported. During the search of Manvel Grigoryan's mansion, three vehicles were found with collections of modern high-priced cars, retro cars, motorcycles and snowmobiles. A number of off-road cars, provided for in the days of the four- day war for the Defense Army, and an ambulance car were also found. They were donated to the Defense Army by representatives of the Armenian community of Russia, which Grigoryan registered as property of his relatives and transported to his own vehicle fleet. Today, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan retired to the deliberation room to decide on the request of the preliminary investigation body for the extension of the term of detention in custody for the fourth time. The decision will be made public today. The defense side still insists on changing the preventive measure in the form of an arrest for a bail of 20 million drams.
