The politician commenting to the Federal News Agency the protests in Paris against the rise in gas prices called them "new Great French Revolution." He also welcomed the victory of Nikol Pashinyan and his "My Step" party in the early elections to the Armenian parliament. He congratulated Armenians and Frenchmen on the fact that "Yerevan and Paris have shown that new times have come." He attached his congratulations to the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As Zhirinovsky said, in these countries, people will no longer allow anyone to humiliate themselves, ignore their fair demands and increase taxes endlessly. The politician said that he welcomed the transition to a parliamentary form of government in Armenia. Due to this, Armenia received a strong impetus for democratic development, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party said.
On December 9, early parliamentary elections were held in Armenia, at which the "My Step" bloc led by the acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received 884,456 votes or 70.43% of the vote. French President Emmanuel Macron announced the introduction of the state of emergency in economic and social situation in the country. From mid-November in France, large-scale protests of "yellow vests" take place. The demonstrators initially opposed the increase in gasoline prices, and then began to express dissatisfaction with the social situation in the country. Mass protests are accompanied by demonstrators' clashes with police officers, riots and arson cars, destruction of banks and shops.
