Within the framework of the "Against Sexual Violence" campaign, organized by the United Nations Population Fund on Human Rights Day, the Ministry of Defense  of Armenia organized a number of events.According to the Defense  Ministry's press service, on December 10 in Armenia the UN Resident  Coordinator, the Permanent Representative of the UN Development  ProgramShombi Sharp and Defense Minister David Tonoyan met with the  Ministry of Defense peacekeeping brigade, with women serving there,  and discussed issues related to the service.

After that, a round table on the topic "Equal rights and equal  opportunities for women and men in the armed forces" was organized in  the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defense with the  participation of representatives of UNFPA, experts and  representatives of various departments. During the meeting, the  program "Measures to Protect and Ensure Equal Rights of Women in the  Defense System" was discussed, which was approved by the order of the  RA Minister of Defense, as well as activities carried out within the  framework of the Annual Cooperation Plan, signed between the RA  Defense Ministry and UNFPA- Armenia.
