ArmInfo.Final results of the early parliamentary elections held on December 9 in Armenia will be summed up in a week. It is reported by the Central Election Commission.
According to the source, today at noon the Commission will sum up the preliminary final results, on the basis of which a protocol will be drawn up. According to the provisions of the Electoral Code, which provides for a passing score for parties of 5% and for blocs of 7%, three political forces passed into the parliament of the new convocation - the My Step bloc, headed by the acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who collected 70.43% of the vote, the Prosperous Armenia Party (8.37% of the votes) and the Enlightened Armenia Party (6.37% of the votes). The voting results have been summed up from all 2010 polling stations.
The former ruling, and now the opposition Republican Party of Armenia for the first time did not enter the National Assembly of the country, gaining 4.7% of the vote.
The party was represented in parliament since the founding of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia in 1995. The current elections were characterized by low voter turnout, which amounted to 48.63% of voters, which is significantly lower than in the previous parliamentary elections in 2017, when more than 60% of voters came to the polls.
