ArmInfo. As of 2:00pm, 24.53% of voters voted in early parliamentary elections in Armenia. The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Armenia reports this.
According to the source, out of 259 2479 people having the right to vote, by the deadline 636 055 voters had time to vote, which is 24.52% of the votes. It is curious that this figure is inferior to the activity of citizens in the parliamentary elections of 2017, when 33.46% of the country's citizens already voted at the position at 2:00pm.
Acting Prime Minister of Armenia and the leader of the ''My Step'' bloc, Nikol Pashinyan, during a live broadcast on his Facebook page, urged citizens of the republic to use their right to form power in the country. According to Pashinyan, as of 11:00am, voter turnout is significantly lower compared with the last elections in 2017. "This has an explanation: in all previous elections from early morning, the microbuses and buses were taken off daily flights, and they were given voters to polling stations using known mechanisms. Now this does not apply and cannot be applied", Pashinyan explained.
The head of the electoral ''My Step'' bloc expressed the hope that the citizens would finally wake up, drink a cup of coffee and go to the polling stations in order to fulfill their civic duty. Nevertheless, he considered it important to once again recall the importance of these elections and the participation of citizens in them. As Pashinyan pointed out, every citizen will be able to contribute to the process of holding free, fair and transparent elections in Armenia.
