ArmInfo. "We have no right to compare the process of preparation for elections in different countries, we assess the election process in terms of its compliance with international standards", the OSCE Observer Mission on Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR / OSCE) in Armenia told ArmInfo correspondent. Ambassador, Ms. Urszula Gacek, responding to a question about her assessment of the preparatory process for elections in Armenia in comparison with other countries of the former Soviet Union, in which the Ambassador participated.
According to her, a preliminary assessment of the electoral process will be given later on Monday, presumably at 14.30 minutes. "We consider preparation for elections as an integral part of the entire electoral process: voter registration, deputy candidates, observers, and media work, so far everything was normal", the Ambassador noted.
She informed that the OSCE / ODIHR observation mission will be in Armenia for 10 or more days. <We will be watching the process of voting, counting and how they meet standards. We do not want to now compare these elections with the latest elections - all comparisons and evaluations will be included in our conclusion. This is the 12th election in Armenia - parliamentary, presidential and referendums. We will publish the final full report on these elections 2 months later; it will also contain recommendations for further improvement of the electoral system.
To note, that the OSCE / ODIHR observation mission consists of more than 200 people.
