ArmInfo. The head of the Armenian Police, Valeriy Osipyan, positively assesses the results of the work done by the law enforcement agencies to hold early parliamentary elections at a high level.
In an interview with journalists after fulfilling his civic duty, he noted that serious preventive measures had been taken. "I think that the work was done very well," the Police Chief said. He stressed that the current election campaign was unprecedented in scale. However, no extraordinary cases have been revealed.
Valery Osipyan also noted that within the framework of preventive measures in Aragatsotn and Shirak regions he held a number of meetings with candidates nominated by the rating system of elections. "It was important to notify them what is allowed during the elections, and what is not," the Chief of Police said. He recalled that the early elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan held this year were the best, and the task set by the acting Prime Minister, was to hold parliamentary elections at an even higher level.
Today, on December 9, early parliamentary elections are being held in Armenia. 11 political forces are fighting for seats in the RA National Assembly - 9 parties and 2 blocs. Elections began at 08.00am and will end at 8:00pm.
