ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia pressed charges against the head of the French group of the joint program "Safech Es. A. and Eptis", which was to carry out technical supervision during the construction of the "North-South Road Corridor investment project.
According to the press service of the Investigative Committee, the latter was charged with appropriating an amount equal to $ 1.8 million. Earlier, the Investigation Committee reported that during the implementation of the North-South Road Corridor program abuses were revealed, resulting in damage to the state at 23.553. 817.000 AMD.
The Investigation Committee of Armenia implemented large-scale investigative actions to identify all those responsible for this crime. As a result, actual evidence was obtained that in 2015, the head of the group was obliged to verify the compliance of the quality characteristics and the volume of construction work carried out at Trench-1, which he, however, did not fulfill.
According to the investigation, the head of the group, having reached a preliminary agreement with the employees of the construction company, as well as with the staff of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies, who were responsible for the proper implementation of the program, on December 1, 2016 presented a fake payment receipt, in which the amount for non- performed work was recorded in the amount of AMD 871.083.253.
Concerning the leader of the group, a charge was brought under Article 178 of the RA Criminal Code. An undertaking not to leave the place was applied as a measure of restraint.
