ArmInfo.Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan intends to discuss with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting in St. Petersburg in connection with his discussion with the Azerbaijani ambassador in the CSTO.
When asked by journalists whether he intends to demand explanations from Lukashenka or wait for discussions on the candidate for the CSTO Secretary General, Pashinyan responded: "Well, of course, we need to discuss, do not postpone."
Earlier, however, Pashinyan said that the question of the candidacy of the CSTO Secretary General is secondary. Former RA Deputy Defense Minister, member of the Republican Party Artak Zakaryan responded to this. According to him, the question of the CSTO Secretary General cannot be secondary. "In this case, the question arises why they fought so actively for this position, why did the countries occupy this position in the rotation system?" - said Zakaryan.
According to the representative of the RPA, Armenia has lost the post of CSTO Secretary General, and this means that in case of a threat to borders, the republic will deal with a foreigner who understands and understands the situation, will lose time. "Only a person who acts against his own interests, or a person who doesn't imagine the process, could bring it to this. We lost thousands of opportunities," concluded Artak Zakaryan. To note, the CSTO summit on December 6 was postponed due to the lack of consensus of the member states on the issue of the candidacy of the CSTO secretary general. The conflict arose due to the fact that the President of Belarus discussed with the Azerbaijani Ambassador the situation in the CSTO. After that, Yerevan and Minsk exchanged rather sharp statements.
