ArmInfo. Relations with Russia are a priority for us. This was stated byActing Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with economic observer Nikolay Korzhenevsky on the eve of the summit of the EAEU countries in St. Petersburg, answering the question about what economic and international agenda he goes to at the early December 9 parliamentary elections.
''Economic agenda is, in principle, the most important thing for current political processes. We have a very important and ambitious task: to turn Armenia from an agrarian-raw country into a technological and industrial country, "said Pashinyan, adding that this is the most important work to be done.
"We believe that this way is overcoming poverty in Armenia, because, unfortunately, there is a very high percentage of poverty and unemployment in the republic now," said the Acting Prime Mminister.
''We are confident that this issue can be resolved only through work. The efforts of every citizen and every person are important for this, because all the same people introduce changes. It is very important that our citizens realize their role not only in the process of political change, but also in the process of economic change, "he said.
''As for the international agenda, I have repeatedly said that there will be no sharp movements in the domestic policy of Armenia. We are committed to the further development of strategic partnerships with Russia; we are interested and will work to increase the effectiveness of our membership in the EAEU, in the CSTO and in the CIS. Our agenda also includes the development of relations with the European Union and the United States. Relations with China and India are very important for us, as well as with our immediate neighbors - with Georgia and with Iran. We are going to develop relations with all our international partners, but not at the expense of our other relations. Of course, relations with Russia are a priority for us, "Pashinyan stressed.
