ArmInfo. One should not expect a humane attitude towards Armenians from Turks. On December 1, during a meeting of the Lazarev Club in Yerevan, a famous Russian orientalist Victor Nadein-Raevsky, stated this.
He noted that, as everyone knows from history, in 1915, the Turks decided to deport and destroy Armenians, as the latter crashed into the Turkic world with a wedge. "In general, the situation has not changed much since then, and how the Armenians were perceived in 1915, as they are perceived now", Nadein-Raevsky said. The expert noted that over the past 20 years, the ideas of Turkism have become widespread in the post- Soviet space, since thousands of students received their education in the so-called Turkish lyceums in dozens of countries around the world. "Thus, a new generation was raised with a new perception of the world. These people, undoubtedly, received an excellent education, however, there is one" but "- the study of history is lame. All this is now being promoted in modern Turkey," Nadein-Rayevsky said .
He also stated that today it is obvious that the people of Artsakh are not ready to go under the yoke of Azerbaijan. The expert also expressed the hope that Russia is aware of the situation. "Any Armenian in the territory of Azerbaijan will either be destroyed or expelled from these territories, as it was in Nakhijevan. These people are not ready to realize the mistakes of the past and any surrender of territories today (the so- called security belt around the former Nagorno Karabakh Autonomy - ed. note.) is loss of defense positions ", the expert concluded.
