ArmInfo. We really appreciate the fact that Armenia chairs the PABSEC in the 25th anniversary year of the organization. On November 27, during the 52nd meeting of the General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation in Yerevan, Armenian Acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stated.
The Acting Foreign Minister said that Armenia remains committed to the organization's goals. "This year, from April to May, the people of Armenia reaffirmed their determination in the area of strengthening human rights, the rule of law, efficient governance and ensuring equal opportunities in economic and social life. In its foreign policy, Armenia reaffirmed the principles of good neighborly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation. From this point the country is ready to make full use of the PABSEC to promote trade and economic cooperation in the region and facilitate the effective implementation of the goals of our organization'', Mnatsakanyan stressed.
"We are confident that every effort should be made to ensure that the PABSEC remains depoliticized, based on the principle of full sovereignty. Cooperation in the region can greatly benefit from cooperation in parliamentary format, especially by exchanging experience in legislation, achieving the stated goals in specific area, etc. ", the Acting Minister noted. Mnatsakanyan also stated that the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly and, in general, the activities of the BSEC should be consistent with the relevant international agenda, especially with the UN agenda of Sustainable Development 2030. "In this context, Armenia is in favor of establishing closer cooperation with international organizations and other regional stakeholders interested in such economic cooperation, which will allow combining and supplementing our actions, as well as avoiding duplication," the Acting Foreign Minister concluded.
