ArmInfo.Acting Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is on a working visit to Strasbourg, took part in the 1329th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
As ArmInfo was told by the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, at the meeting the chairmanship passed from Croatia to Finland.
During his speech, Mnatsakanyan, referring to the priorities of the Croatian chairmanship, attached great importance to the issue of combating corruption and spoke about the active efforts of the new government of Armenia in this direction.
The Acting Foreign Minister said he represents the government, which came to power through a powerful popular movement, based on the results of the velvet revolution. "But the changes did not happen in one month. This is the result of consistent strengthening of democratic opportunities in our country, covering all sectors of society. This is also the result of interaction with our European partners," Mnatsakanyan said .
At the same time, the Armenian Minister highly appreciated the efforts of the Croatian chairmanship to protect the cultural heritage, stressing the need for all CoE members to work together in this direction. Mnatsakanyan also expressed Armenia`s support for the presidency of Finland in the Council of Europe.
