ArmInfo. The Turkmen delegation led by the deputy chairman of the Mejlis arrived on a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with the aim of participating in an event dedicated to the start of construction of a 500-seat mosque in the village of Akina in the Andkhoy region of Faryab.
As the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Armenia told ArmInfo, at the same time, on the day of the construction of the mosque, a ceremony was launched to begin laying a 10 km railway line to develop the Akina railway station sector. The ceremony was attended by the heads of the railway branches of both countries. As is known, in November 2016, with the participation of the Presidents of both countries, the first section of the Kerki-Imamnazar-Akin railway was commissioned.
Turkmenistan permanently provides humanitarian assistance to a neighboring Afghan state. The construction of the mosque will be carried out on the basis of the corresponding Program for the cultural and humanitarian direction for 2018-2020. between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. The construction of the mosque will be carried out at the expense of the Turkmen side and will become another evidence of friendly relations.
Governor of Faryab of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Naqibullah Gayik, the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, representatives and elders of religious affairs departments of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, as well as other officials took part in the event dedicated to the beginning of the construction of the mosque. Construction work begins in November 2018 and the mosque will be commissioned with full readiness for operation in December 2020.
