The Acting Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, during his working visit to Strasbourg, within the framework of discussions on the CoE action program in Armenia, held talks with ambassadors of donor countries, CoE Deputy Secretary General Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni and Verena Taylor, Director of the Office of the Directorate General of Programmes of the Council of Europe .
The press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo that at the meeting the projects implemented under the action program for 2015-2018, the results achieved, as well as issues related to the action program for 2019-2022, were discussed.
Mnatsakanyan stated with satisfaction that the CoE is one of the most important partners of Armenia on the way of strengthening democracy and the establishment of civil society institutions, and the government is committed to expand and strengthen this interaction.
At the same time, the Armenian Minister stressed the need of targeted involvement of the CoE Action Plan in areas of importance to Armenia.
In the context of the recent internal political processes in Armenia, Mnatsakanyan emphasized the commitment of the Armenian government, based on a broad public mandate, to continue the reform process aimed at establishing the rule of law in the country and strengthening justice, fighting corruption, providing equal opportunities in the social and economic fields.
