ArmInfo. An annual informal meeting of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia Timur Urazaev with the chief editors of the leading Armenian media took place in Yerevan.
Issues related to the Eurasian integration and challenges facing the partners, as well as the participation of Armenian media in covering international events in Kazakhstan, were discussed at the meeting. At the same time, the diplomat stressed that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to other tools, which allow strengthening cooperation. In this context, Urazaev stressed the need to strengthen cooperation between Armenia and Kazakhstan, not only within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, but also within other international structures, including the OSCE PA, the OSCE Assembly, the UN. "It is necessary to take steps to step up trade and economic cooperation, which is at a fairly low level.
However, I believe that until regional logistics issues are resolved, it will not be possible to fully use the existing potential in our relations", said the diplomat, adding that Kazakhstan is positioning itself as a transit state, and opens up maximum competitive opportunities for interaction both within the EAEU and outside the organization.
During the meeting, participants discussed topical issues of the Armenian-Kazakhstan bilateral agenda, as well as problems and tasks within the framework of integration projects, in which two states are participants. New promising areas for interaction were proposed, problematic issues were identified in bilateral and multilateral formats that need to be eliminated, and the results of the past year were summed up.
