ArmInfo. The issue with the new CSTO General Secretary is not the most significant; much more important and deeper issues are at stake. This opinion was expressed by the. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a press conference on November 20, commenting on the prospect of Armenia's withdrawal from the CSTO if the position of the Armenian side is ignored.
According to Pashinyan, everyone should understand that today it's a question of preserving the post of CSTO secretary general for Armenia, a question of secondary importance: "Let's ask ourselves what gave the post of CSTO secretary general to Armenia, what advantage in respecting its interests, and what the republic will lose with the loss of this post? " At present, it is necessary to determine the mutual obligations of members of the military-political bloc. Armenia, as he explained, should understand the Organization, which, in theory, is considered the guarantor of the country's security, in fact, it is. "At this stage, the issue of security of Armenia and Artsakh is discussed, what expectations can there be from membership in the organization, what are its members ready for, and, most importantly, how much does it come into contact with reality", he said.
