ArmInfo.Despite the fact that the defense budget has increased by 26.6%, there are no plans to change the salaries of military personnel next year. This was stated on November 12, at a meeting with journalists, by RA Defense Minister David Tonoyan stated.
<Next year no salary increase is planned in the Armed Forces. However, the Ministry of Defense, by saving some funds at the expense of bonuses, is trying to ensure an increase in salaries. First of all, priority is given to those who are on combat duty, "said Tonoyan.
Touching housing issue, Acting Armenian Minister of Defense stated that the ministry is looking for ways to solve this problem. According to him, this issue will be partially resolved through privatization of office apartments. In this regard, he informed that in the past month in this way, 122 soldiers received housing. "Another solution is mortgage lending at a low interest rate, which is quite affordable for military personnel. Moreover, not only young officers can take a mortgage, but also those who are in the ranks of the Armed Forces for 10-20 years, "he said, and in this context he stressed that the Armenian government is working to ensure that in a short time the demobilized military will receive housing for them, and so that the whole process is transparent and fair.
