ArmInfo. Employees of the South-Caucasian Railway (SCR), subsidiaries of Russian Railways, have made the payment of the required salary increments. As the press secretary of the company Ruben Grdzelyan told ArmInfo, the railway was restored in full, the management and the staff agreed to pay bonuses.
According to the representative of SCR, the railway communication is currently restored in all directions. To note employees of the company, dissatisfied with the deprivation of their salary increments, went on strike for several days in a row. On November 5, SCR employees blocked the Yerevan-Shorzha (Sevan) railways in the section of the village Tsovagyugh. They were unhappy with the deprivation of their premiums. On November 7, the machinists blocked the road and in the second most important city of Gyumri, the train did not go, the Tbilisi train got up in Ayrum, buses took passengers. Meanwhile, SCR is one of the largest employers in the Republic of Armenia with a team of more than 3,000 people.
On November 8, a spokesman for SCR told ArmInfo that the company's management is currently negotiating with a view to returning to normal operation "given that the employee's discontent with the bonus accrual system is currently being revised (since September)." Nevertheless, according to ArmInfo sources, the reduction in the size of bonus payments in SCR is due to the decline in freight traffic.
On the eve of the question addressed by Hakob Arshakyan, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia. He expressed the hope that a solution would be found soon, and the work of the railway would be restored. The question of the possible "unfair" distribution of the bonus fund according to the scheme "to the management - everything, to the employees - pennies" he called the internal affair of the company, namely "the relationship between the employer and the employees". "Under the concession agreement, the company undertakes to invest in development and ensure the normal operation of the railway. However, what internal procedures, methods and what bonus system the company is guided by is its corporate policy. The main thing is that the railway should work normally," Arshakyan said. Regarding the case in connection with possible abuses in the SCR, the Acting The head of the Ministry of Transport called on this issue to appeal to law enforcement agencies, since the issue is within their competence. At the same time, he stated that the issue of cancellation of the contract with the Russian Railways Company, in which SCR is in concession management, is not on the Armenian government's agenda.-
