This is stated in the Declaration of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which was signed today at the CSTO summit in Astana.
As reported by TASS, in addition, the members of the CSTO Collective Security Council (CSC) confirmed the course towards strengthening the defense potential of the member states. The parties also noted the importance of decisions taken at the current session of the CSC CSTO on improving the preparation of the CSTO troops (collective forces), the structure and composition of the CSTO collective response forces and the collective force management systems of the Organization. Special attention was paid to equipping these troops with modern types of weapons and military equipment, and to increasing the effectiveness of conducting joint operational and combat training measures. The CSTO countries also believe that the Organization's contribution to strengthening international security is growing it can adequately participate in UN peacekeeping.
