ArmInfo.A joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Ministers of Defense and the Committee of Secretaries of CSTO Security Councils was held in Astana.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, during the meeting, participants discussed the problems of international and regional security, the coordination of foreign policy activities of the CSTO member states, the improvement of mechanisms to counter challenges and threats and the development of the military potential of the Organization. The issues of further improvement of the military component of the Organization, draft decisions on the legalization of observer status in the CSTO and CSTO partner were considered. Approved the provision on the CSTO Crisis Response Center, which defines the objectives, functions, and organizational and legal framework of the Center. Changes were made to the composition of the military contingents and formations of the special-purpose forces of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces and the composition of the CSTO peacekeeping contingents, and the List of measures for the joint training of the CSTO command and control forces for the period until 2025 was approved. Also during the meeting, the Minister of Defense held a number of bilateral meetings with the heads of the defense departments of the CSTO member states.
To note Acting RA Defense Minister David Tonoyan and Acting Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan are locaded in Astana.
Today, Acting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will also fly to Astana, who will participate in the CSTO Heads of State Summit.
