ArmInfo.On November 7, Acting Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia Feliks Tsolakyandiscussed with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia Sergey Kopyrkin prospects for bilateral cooperation. According to Tsolakyan, friendly relations with the Russian Embassy have a long history.
He expressed the hope that the partnership between countries will continue in the direction of preventing emergencies. The Acting Minister noted that through the Armenian-Russian humanitarian center, efficientvely operating in the system of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Armenian rescue teams are constantly updated and re-equipped. In addition, retraining and exchange of experience is being successfully conducted. By the end of the year, according to the agreed schedule, it is expected that the center will provide another 25 pieces of equipment.
"Our Russian partners provide wide support in dealing with emergencies. Soon I will have a meeting with my Russian counterpart, in addition, in the coming days I plan to visit the Armenian-Russian humanitarian center and on the spot to get acquainted with the possibilities of the institution", Tsolakyan said.
Tsolakian also noted that upcoming events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the earthquake in Armenia in four cities (Spitak, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Stepanavan) Russian and other countries of the world representatives will attended. Ambassador Kopyrkin, in turn, confirmed the embassy's readiness to continue and deepen cooperation in the field of emergency situations.
