ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakhytzhan Sagintayev held a bilateral meeting with the acting First Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan.
According to the press service of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Armenia, the meeting took place within the framework of the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government, held in Astana.
The parties discussed the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in the energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the chemical industry, civil aviation, mechanical engineering and the implementation of joint investment projects in the IT sector. Prospects for deliveries to Armenia of metals and products from them, food products, products of animal and vegetable origin, railway engineering were considered.
According to the interlocutors, today all the conditions have been established for the development of mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the countries, the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation is actively working.
The meeting participants also indicated that common aspirations for the development of information technologies will establish mutually beneficial conditions for the development of Kazakhstan-Armenian business based on the principles of a market economy and fair competition.
Special attention was paid to the issues of regional security and the fight against terrorism. The foreign trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Armenia in January-August 2018 amounted to $ 8.2 million, and exports - $ 4.2 million, which doubled over the same period last year.
To note, according to the Statistics Committee of Armenia, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Kazakhstan in January-September 2018 was $ 9.9 million, with an annual growth of 95.5%. At the same time, exports amounted to $ 7.5 million, with an annual growth of 2.4 times, imports - $ 2.4 million, with an annual growth of 25.6%.
