ArmInfo.The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia opened a criminal case on the fact of abuse of official position by a number of officials of the Yerevan Municipality who sold the property, at a price five times lower than the market one.
Moreover, this property was not subject to alienation, the press service of the RA Prosecutor General's Office reports. According to the source, a criminal case was filed on the basis of a letter from the Apricot Country faction of the Council of Elders of Yerevan, according to which the adjoining staircase and a plot of land for the lawn adjacent to the school N20 named after John Kirakosyan.
The investigation showed that officials of the mayor's office, having enough information that the above- mentioned land plot is in the common area, and cannot be alienated, used their official position and sold it at a price of 81.9 million AMD without a corresponding assessment of the property. The buyer subsequently pawned this property twice in the bank, which in the first case estimated it at 445.5 million drams, in the second - at 458.3 million AMD.
