ArmInfo. Nikol Pashinyan's nomination for the post of Prime Minister of Armenia is a formal procedure. The head of the Yelk parliament faction Lena Nazaryan wrote about this on her Facebook page.
The MP noted that the Yelk faction nominated Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as a candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Armenia. "As I have already noted, this nomination is purely formal in nature and our goal is to ensure the procedure envisaged by the Constitution so that later there is no misinterpretation of legal definitions. It is now necessary that the Prime Minister not be elected and the National Assembly be dissolved legally ", Nazaryan concluded.
To note, the opinions of lawyers on the nomination of the candidate for the post of prime minister were divided - some of them believed that it was possible not to nominate a candidate during the election of the prime minister in parliament, the other part considered that a candidate should be nominated, but not elected. The term of nomination of candidates for the post of prime minister expires today at 6:00pm. Tomorrow an extraordinary session is to take place at which a vote on the premier's nomination will take place. If parliament does not elect a prime minister twice, it will be dissolved by force of law.
