ArmInfo. In the new Armenia there will be no division into enemies, insiders and outsiders. Acting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters referring to the appointment of former Deputy Head of Police Hunan Poghosyan to the post of governor of Syunik region, at a fair exhibition of Syrian-Armenian works "Breath of Syrian-Armenian Culture in Yerevan" on North Avenue
The prime minister recalled his statement yesterday that Armenia is entering a new phase. "There is a time to build barricades and time to disassemble them. Today we have entered the period of dismantling the barricades, and the question here is not in the person of Hunan Poghosyan, this is a political message and it is that there will be no division into enemies, ours and yours. There are no flawless people in Armenia. I don't remember an appointment that wouldn't cause a rumor. One is too young, the other is tall, the third is short, I repeat, there are no flawless people. There will not be flawless appointments. We must involve the potential of the Armenian people in the development of Armenia", the acting PM of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stressed.
At the same time, according to him, everyone in Armenia is equal before the law - everyone will be responsible for their actions, regardless of positions and posts.
In response to the remark that yesterday the Syunik people blocked the road to protest against the appointment of Hunan Poghosyan to the post of the head of the region, Pashinyan noted with a smile: "Not the Syunik people blocked the road, but the members of our party."
Today, theoretically, Pashinyan did not rule out the involvement of RPA members in the work of the Cabinet. "We state that we will not refuse personnel because they are from the RPA, and I have already made appointments from RPA members and there is nothing sensational in this either, "the acting prime minister said. At the same time, he ruled out that the former head of the police, Vladimir Gasparyan, would be appointed to any post.
To recall, yesterday on the sitting of the government, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Hunan Poghosyan's appointment to the post of the head of Syunik may seem strange for many people. However, as Pashinyan pointed out, there should not be "political racism" in Armenia and everyone should be equal before the law. "I think it's very important that as a result of the revolution that took place in the country, no one considers his life in Armenia ended, and in accordance with this logic, I believe that we in Armenia should not allow the development of such a phenomenon that can be called political racism when people are initially subjected to certain harassment only because they occupied positions, carried out certain activities with representatives of the former government. In our government there are also people who had such a connection. The time has come for full consolidation. There is time to build barricades and time to disassemble them, and I hope that we are getting closer to this line, "the Prime Minister explained. At the same time, he stressed that such an approach does not mean indulgences towards any of the current or former officials. "In Armenia, everyone is equal before the law, there are no untouchables either from current or former officials, or from ordinary citizens, and this should be understood," Pashinyan said.
