ArmInfo.Opinions regarding the early elections to the Republican National Assembly were divided. On October 16, the head of the parliamentary commission on foreign  affairs, deputy chairman of the Republican Party, Armen Ashotyan,  told reporters.  He noted that some representatives of the RPA,  including him, believe that they need to participate in early  parliamentary elections, while others say that this election period  should be missed and prepare for the development of the political  situation in the country.

"The party does not have a final decision, because the date of early  parliamentary elections has not even been set yet. At this stage,  analytical, research public opinion polls are being monitored and  monitored.  When the election date becomes known, we will publicize  our decision.

I believe that the RPA has something to say and what to do in the  political arena of Armenia. The RPA is the only party that has an  ideological basis. Another question is how much we have been able to  follow our principles in recent years, "said the deputy.

When asked how the Republican Party head, Serzh Sargsyan, relates to  all of this, Ashotyan replied: "Serzh Sargsyan is currently listening  to different opinions, which are many. stressed the deputy.  Ashotyan  expressed confidence that the Republican Party of Armenia should  participate in the parliamentary elections. "It's impossible every 10  years to destroy the existing political field and create a new one.  I'm sorry that over time we lost considerable potential of the  political elite of the ANM. I don't want such a threat to threaten  any force, including the RPA," the deputy. He also noted that the  political culture of Armenia requires that the previous authorities  not leave the political arena, as the previous authorities are  carriers of institutional memory. According to the latter, many  representatives of the previous government, not being involved in any  corruption scandal, can be useful in political life. "Armenia is a  small country, we do not have a large political elite, and the  creation of a new rather expensive process.  Armenia's interests  require that the previous authorities not disappear from the  political field, but could change and take their place. If we start  eradicating political cycles, we will never be a stable political  system, "said Ashotyan. He noted that for many years RPA gained  experience, knowledge, connections and is ready to serve the citizens  of Armenia. "Of course, if enough citizens vote for the RPA," the  deputy concluded.
