ArmInfo.Baku responded to the resolution adopted in the framework of the 17th Summit of the Francophonie "Crisis Situations, Overcoming Crisis and Peace- Building in the Francophone Territories", which also touches upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Thus, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry assured that, despite the efforts of Armenia, it did not manage to take advantage of the OIF, because this resolution reflects full support for the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, and also refers to the resumption of the negotiation process ensuring fundamental principles of the Helsinki Final Act, including the non-use of force or threats, the principles of territorial integrity and self-determination of peoples. The press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry also claims that according to the language of the Helsinki Final Act, Armenia is responsible for using force to carry out "an aggressive policy against Azerbaijan and keep its territories under military occupation." "We would like to emphasize that the Helsinki Final Act clearly states that states should refrain in their mutual relations, as in their international relations in general, from using force or threat against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state. As for the principle of self-determination of peoples, the Helsinki Final Act clearly states the following: "The participating States must respect equality of rights and the right of peoples to control their own destiny, acting constantly in accordance with the objectives and principles of the UN Charter and the relevant norms of international law, including those related to the territorial integrity of states. " Armenia should stop its unsuccessful efforts to deceive the international community and fulfill its obligations under the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and the Helsinki Final Act to withdraw its troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. We hope that after the elections in Armenia the new government of this state will understand that for sustainable development Armenia has no other way than withdrawing its troops from the "Azerbaijani territories", "the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said, the Trend reports.
