ArmInfo. "What I discussed with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is not a solution to the Karabakh issue, in fact, we discussed how to create an environment that will allow us to conduct peaceful negotiations." The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said this in an interview with the French channel France 24.
"It is impossible to talk about resolving the conflict without having the conditions to achieve it," the premier stressed.
According to Pashinyan, during the conversation, the parties stated the fact that the situation is too tense to make a decision. According to the prime minister, that is why they are working to reduce tension.
Pashinyan confirmed that the negotiation process should be held in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group. "The format has never been a matter of negotiation, and we do not demand any changes," he stressed.
The prime minister also reminded that the Azerbaijani side stated that it does not want to negotiate with representatives of Karabakh. "How can Karabakh be ruled by Azerbaijan if Azerbaijan does not want to talk with the people of Karabakh? This is proved by the fact that Azerbaijan wants to get the land, not the people. Its main task is to cleanse Karabakh from its population," Pashinyan concluded.
