ArmInfo.Head of the Armenian delegation to PACE, Deputy President of the National Assembly Arpine Hovhannisyan on her Facebook page wrote about the anti- Armenian resolution presented by the Azerbaijani delegation, which the Armenian side was able to use in its own interests.
In particular, Hovhannisyan wrote: "Yesterday, the PACE adopted a resolution developed by the German delegate Frank Schwab about the" Unrestricted Access of the Council of Europe and UN Human Rights Monitoring bodies in the member countries of these organizations, as well as in the "gray zones" - Hovhannisyan said. .
Then the Deputy President of the Armenian parliament presented the details of this resolution: "The purpose of this resolution is to protect human rights in the unrecognized republics, including in Nagorno- Karabakh through the implementation of monitoring tools. Human rights should be protected regardless of where the person is, "stressed the head of the Armenian delegation to PACE.
Hovhannisyan stressed that the initiative, which was originally anti-Armenian, resulted in a resolution that does not contain anti-Armenian language. On the contrary, the resolution now contains formulations that fully fit into the national interests of Armenia, and perhaps that is why the Azerbaijani delegation voted against this resolution. "In particular, yesterday during the meeting, proposals were made to amend the resolution, which were aimed at eliminating positive components from it, but they failed. The delegation members gave a decent response to the aggressive but weak rhetoric of Azerbaijanis," the Deputy President said. Hovhannisyan also noted that this is the answer to the question of who or whose interests the Armenian delegation represents in PACE. "Naturally and exclusively state and national interests of Armenia. I and my counterparts represented Armenia taking into account its state and national interests. Until today, I could hardly control myself, because I understood any careless statement on this topic, in response to even an obvious accusation or the statement can negate the efforts of months, and become a stimulus for anti- Armenian rhetoric and concrete actions of our opponents, "the head of the Armenian delegation to PACE noted. The document, in particular, contains a provision in which the PACE welcomes the desire of Artsakh to cooperate with international structures. The postscript states that in the course of her work as head of the Armenian delegation to PACE, this was the seventh report, from which not only anti-Armenian language was excluded, but also provisions based on the interests of Armenia were included. "I have the honor to serve the Republic of Armenia," concluded Arpine Hovhannisyan. To note earlier Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the Armenian delegation in PACE does not represent the interests of the people, but of the former corrupt regime, presenting the Armenian reality in a distorted form in the structure, obviously, referring to the critical letter by the co-rapporteur on monitoring in Armenia Yulia Lovochkina in Armenia, as well as the intention of PACE to conduct monitoring in the country, which, according to Pashinyan, was initiated by members of the Armenian delegation.
