ArmInfo.To discuss the situation in the country, Armenian President Armen Sargsyan initiated a series of consultative meetings with representatives of parliamentary factions.
According to the presidential press service, today Sargsyan met with the head of the Republican faction Vahram Baghdasaryan. The President welcomed the fact that the political forces agreed to negotiations, noting the importance of maintaining an atmosphere of tolerance and solidarity in the country. He once again emphasized that all problems should be solved through negotiations, within the framework of the Constitution and the law, being guided by state and national interests.
In turn, Vahram Baghdasaryan confirmed the statement of the Republican Party of Armenia that despite the fact that representatives of the faction oppose holding extraordinary elections in December, the faction does not intend to nominate its candidate for the post of prime minister, in the case of self-resignation of Nikol Pashinyan. He also noted that parliamentary factions should be given enough time to prepare for early elections to the National Assembly.
