ArmInfo."There will be no non-professionals in the new Cabinet of Armenia," Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of Armenia Suren Papikyan told journalists after a regular government meeting on October 10.
According to the minister, there are relevant procedures that suggest that an official, in particular, a civil servant cannot be dismissed "for unjustified reasons." Nevertheless, the criticism and signals from citizens on the "poor quality work of an official", as he pointed out, will be heard and on their basis certain conclusions will also be drawn in the conduct of personnel policy. As for the three new governors appointed at the government meeting today, they, as the minister noted, are members of the Civil Contract party. With regard to the other three candidates - the heads of Syunik, Aragatsotn and Armavir, the government will decide on the next week. Earlier, ArmInfo reported that the Armenian government at a meeting on October 10 decided to appoint three governors. Gnel Sanosyan (previously served as deputy minister of ecology) became the new governor of Gegharkunik region. Trdat Sargsyan will head Vayots Dzor region, Andrey Ghukasyan (former-deputy governor) will head Lori district. To recall, on October 2, after the adoption of the draft law by the parliament, which, according to its opponents, is aimed at preventing the dissolution of the National Assembly, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the rally on Baghramyan Avenue that the ministers and governors of the Prosperous Armenia (PAP) and ARF Dashnaktsutyun parties were dismissed. On October 4, at the meeting, the Government of Armenia dismissed six governors from the Tsarukyan bloc and ARF Dashnaktsutyun.
