ArmInfo.In the first nine months of 2018, in the framework of criminal cases investigated by the Investigative Committee of Armenia, damage to the state was restored in the amount of 1.215.883.750 Armenian drams, of which 49% or 537.869.999 drams were returned in the period from June 10 to October 10, Head of Armenian Investigative Committee Mkrtich Grigoryan stated in his speech on October 8.
"For comparison, in the cases under investigation, 537.869.999 drams were restored in 2017, that is, for the first 9 months of 2018 about 2.5 -fold more funds recovered, "said Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, adding that during the indicated period 845 searches were conducted within various criminal cases, 172 people were detained, 1335 were involved as defendants, of which 101 were officials.
He stressed that arrest was chosen as a measure of restraint against 147 accused, other judicial measures of coercion were applied against 35 officials: 94 petitions were transferred to the relevant authorities to temporarily terminate powers, prevent crimes and eliminate their circumstances. Due to explanatory work 194 accused who were on wanted list surrendered, and 124 recruits who were wanted went to serve in the army. In addition, according to Grigoryan, in the above period, a preliminary investigation was completed in 6,390 criminal cases, of which only 2,176 (34.1%) were completed in the third quarter.
