ArmInfo.The Investigation Committee of Armenia investigates the circumstances of dismantling a section of the Meghri-Kapan railway of the Yerevan-Baku railway line. According to the press service of the Investigative Committee, on the basis of a consensus agreement signed between South Caucasus Railways and the Ministry of Transport and Communications on June 1, 2008, according to the delivery and acceptance acts, the railway section Meghri-Kapan (about 40 km) residual value of 126.590.817 drams was transfered to the company.
"However, in 2010-2011, the railway was completely dismantled and plundered. Considering the public interest in the investigation of this criminal case, we inform that the company will undergo inspections to identify the extent of damage, as well as to find out other significant circumstances for the investigation, which is entrusted to the State Revenue Committee, " the RA Investigation Committee reports.
The Committee stressed that the investigation in the framework of the case continues. To recall, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan told the newspaper Kommersant in Moscow that abuses amounting to $ 60 million were revealed in the Armenian "subsidiary" of the Russian Railways " CJSC-" South Caucasus Railway ".
According to him, the previously announced amount of tax claims by the Armenian authorities to the company at $ 19,000 is not accurate. CJSC "South Caucasus Railway" is a 100% subsidiary of OJSC "Russian Railways" and carries out concession management of Armenian railways. The railway infrastructure of Armenia was handed over to the concession management of SCR CJSC according to the concession agreement signed on February 13, 2008. The term of the concession management is 30 years with the right of prolongation for another 10 years.
