ArmInfo. Today the rector of one of the leading Kazakhstani universities - Eurasian National University named after L.Gumilev - E.Sydykov paid a working visit to Yerevan State University (YSU). During the meeting of the delegation from Kazakhstan with the leadership of the YSU the parties outlined specific tasks of bilateral cooperation.
In an interview with ArmInfo correspondent, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia Timur Urazaev outlined the tasks that are on the agenda of cooperation. "Our task is to continue the exchange of students, as a rule, Kazakhstani students, graduates come to Yerevan State University for training." Secondly, teachers, academicians, researchers at the level of candidates and doctors of science should be exchanged in order to conduct joint research. We will start from the field of Armenian-Kypchak manuscripts, their research on the basis of the Institute of Ancient Manuscripts "Matenadaran", we will try to win joint grants for the implementation of joint programs, "the Ambassador said.
Urazaev also noted that a separate topic was the issue of sending specialists from Armenia to the Eurasian National University for training in the subjects of Kazakh language and the history of the region. And in turn, sending Kazakh specialists to Armenia for the implementation of teaching activities on a long-term basis. "I think that in October, the two leading universities should exchange concrete proposals, and we will start developing financial plans for 2019-2020 to implement these projects," the Ambassador concluded.
To recall today Yerlan Sydykov met with Kazakh students studying in YSU.. During the meeting, Sydykov briefed on today's meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. "The two heads of state discussed a wide range of issues on expanding relations between the two countries, which we are implementing," Sydykov said. During the meeting, the transfer of Kazakh books to the university was also organized.
To note today the delegation from Kazakhstan will meet with the Minister of Education and Science of Armenia Arayik Harutyunyan.
To recall today a memorandum on cooperation between the National Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books of the Ministry of Culture of Kazakhstan and the Armenian Institute of Ancient Manuscripts "Matenadaran" was also signed. And in the evening the literary and musical evening "Abaev Readings in Yerevan" with the participation of the Kazakh artists, figures of culture and education and the Armenian cultural community took place in the capital's Grand Hotel Yerevan.
