ArmInfo.Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev on the sidelines of the summit of the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Dushanbe.
As the press service of the Armenian government reports, during the meeting Nikol Pashinyan noted with satisfaction the consistent development of bilateral interstate relations. He stressed the importance of intensifying economic cooperation. According to the Prime Minister, several Kazakh companies are showing interest in the Armenian market, intending to make investments. The Armenian government believes that deepening business ties will help increase bilateral trade. He pointed to the importance of cooperation in integration associations - the CSTO, the Eurasian Economic Union and the CIS. Nikol Pashinyan also considered it necessary to increase the efficiency of integration associations, constructive negotiations on specific problems, which will help to find appropriate solutions. In turn, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that trade between the two states increased by 60% last year. He expressed his conviction that as a result of the activities of the governments of the two states this trend will be consistent. According to him, Kazakhstan is open for Armenian business and Armenian goods. Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the parties have good opportunities for expanding and developing bilateral relations. The head of Kazakhstan stressed that the Armenian specialists always showed themselves on the positive side. He noted the importance of sharing experiences. Speaking about the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the Kazakh leader said that they are specific, and Kazakhstan stands for the peaceful settlement through negotiations.
During the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev and Nikol Pashinyan discussed the agenda of Armenian-Kazakh relations, as well as issues related to the development of cooperation within the framework of integration associations.
