ArmInfo. Armenia and Lebanon intend to consistently develop traditional friendly relations. This was discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Lebanese President Michel Aoun on September 25 on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.
As the press service of the Armenian government reports, during the meeting the interlocutors noted with satisfaction the high level of political cooperation. The parties pointed to the importance of deepening and economic ties, increasing the volume of bilateral trade. In this context, the need to hold business forums was stressed.
Nikol Pashinyan and Michel Aoun discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation in various fields and the process of preparation for the summit of the International Organization of Francophonie, which will be held in Yerevan this October.
The President of Lebanon confirmed his participation in this summit and expressed the conviction that it will be held at a high level.
The interlocutors also pointed to the important role of the Armenian Diaspora in Lebanon in expanding bilateral relations. Michel Aoun stressed that the success of the local Armenian community in various areas of the country contributes to the development and progress of the state.
