He stressed that the result of the work of the commissions has already revealed a number of violations. In this regard, the Minister noted that many officials in Armenian oblasts are careless about their obligations. In particular, according to him, knowing about numerous violations, local authorities do not stop lawlessness. <For many, Sevan, unfortunately, continues to be an inexhaustible source of water>, - stressed S.Papikyan. He noted that illegal pipes were found, through which incoming water either supplied private plots or was sold to farmers at more affordable prices.
"The process of using water in communities will continue to be under strict control, and everyone should start taking this matter seriously," he concluded.
It should be reminded that despite the protests of environmentalists, the National Assembly of Armenia made an amendment to the law on the approval of the annual and comprehensive programs for the restoration, preservation, reproduction and use of the Lake Sevan ecosystem at an extraordinary meeting on August 28, providing for an additional fence from Lake Sevan 40 million cubic meters of water. To date, according to the minister, 26.5 million cubic meters have already been used. m. of water.
