ArmInfo.The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia opened a criminal case on the fact of offering an electoral bribe at the early elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan.
As the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office told ArmInfo, on September 14 of this year the Armenian Police received a message from the citizen that he was offered an election bribe. According to the citizen, two women offered him 60 thousand drams or if he receives a monthly cash benefit in a larger amount, the amount of the allowance for one month to vote in elections in favor of their candidate. "In fact, the RA Police initiated a criminal case on the grounds of Article 154.2 part 2 and sent to the Prosecutor General's Office. The case was transfered to the Special Investigation Service," the Prosecutor General's Office said in a statement.
The department notes that the instruction was given to take all measures for a comprehensive and objective investigation of all circumstances of the incident, as well as possible revealing of new cases of electoral bribery at the elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan.
