The Armenian government and the entire Armenian nation mobilized their resources to receive the participants of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) in the best traditions of hospitality. This was stated by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on September 12 at the opening of the XI conference of non-governmental organizations, national and international ones from francophone countries, which will be held in Yerevan on September 12-14, the Prime Minister delivered his welcome speech completely in French, eliciting applauses from the audience.
According to the head of the government, the events occurred in Armenia proved the strength of the civil movement. "These events, in which young people, women and men participated, proved the strength of civil society, the degree of importance of democracy and solidarity in our country, and we share these values with our friends from Francophonie. I am proud to note the importance of hosting members of the Francophonie by our country ", Pashinyan stated. The head of the Armenian government expressed hope that this summit will contribute to the development of Francophonie throughout the world, and Armenia will become the diplomatic center of the Francophonie. "I am confident that the summit will be an unforgettable event, and we will record great success," said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Secretary General of the OIF Michaelle Jean, in her turn, noted that Armenia was preparing for hosting the 17th Summit of the Francophonie with hospitality natural to it. "We are honored to hold a summit in the country where a velvet revolution and a peaceful change of power occurred," she said. Later, addressing the journalists, the Head of the International Organization of Francophonie Michaelle Jean noted that the entire Armenian audience was impressed by the speech of the Armenian Prime Minister. "The Armenian authorities show that they also accept French as the international language of communication, I saw the expressions of attendees, it was incredible," she said. To recall, OIF includes 58 member-states, and 26 countries-observers. About 200 representatives of French-speaking countries take part in the XI conference of non-governmental organizations.
