ArmInfo.A new procedure for the use of mobile phones in the armed forces of Armenia is being introduced. The servicemen of the armed forces have the right to use mobile phones, but should do it in proper order, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan wrote on his Facebook page.
"The soldier has the right to have a mobile phone which does not have video recorders, recording, photographing functions and access to the Internet. The soldier's mobile phone is registered at the collection point. If the soldier's mobile phone has additional functions from the aforementioned, it is returned to the soldier's representatives on the record of receipt. The soldiers get acquainted with the requirements of encryption rules of communication on the phone at the Republican point of collection.
On arrival at the military unit, the soldier gets the mobile phone registered. The soldier is not allowed to use the mobile phone while performing planned and unplanned activities, exercises, during combat duty, in service and during the use of weapons. A soldier can use the mobile phone in free time by the schedule of the military unit. The payments for the conversations are done either by the serviceman himself, or by his relatives," the new order reads.
Meanwhile, servicemen are urged to avoid talking about military incidents on the phone, not to call relatives during tense situations and telling them what is going on, not to leave such a message as "tomorrow we will have an alarm", not to post photos showing military positions, secret weapons or equipment, machine numbers. It is required to turn off a mobile phone in the course of military operations. "The enemy is listening to you and may destroy you and your device," the Ministry of Defense warns.
